Calculating GWA:
You can compute your grades with the help of your credit hours for that particular subject/course. If you want to calculate your GWA you need to follow these steps. You can also use our GWA calculator for convenience.
1. Multiply your numeric grades by the credit hours for each subject.
2. Add up the results from step 1.
3. Add up the total credit hours for all subjects.
4. Divide the sum from Step 2 by the total credit hours from Step 3.
5. The result is your GWA.
To understand these steps better, let’s assume after summing the products of grades and credit hours of each subject, the result is 45. The total credit hours are 13. Then to calculate your GWA, follow the following steps:
1. Multiply grades by credit hours: 45
2. Add up the results: (e.g., 45)
3. Add up total credit hours: (e.g., 13)
4. Divide: 45 ÷ 13 = 3.46
5. GWA: 3.46
